About Me
For the first ten years of my career, I taught English and creative writing at a public arts high school in Durham, North Carolina. After my second son was born, I left teaching for freelancing and supported dozens of small businesses and marketing firms with copywriting, email and social media marketing, and SEO content. I've enjoyed researching and writing about food, wine, travel, and education, but in December 2022, I started narrowing my focus to health writing, specifically mental health, yoga, meditaiton, and services for older adults.
In addition to my work as a professional writer, I’m a RYT-200 yoga teacher, fiction writer, mother of two great kids (and a poodle), and connoisseur of first novels, kitchen dance music, and hard-to-kill houseplants. I’m generally a homebody, but won’t turn down a trip to the Blue Ridge mountains or northern Michigan, where I spent many childhood summers. I live with my family in a woodsy little acre in-between Chapel Hill and Hillsborough, North Carolina.
